Validation function that works off of three different lists?

Hi Everyone,

I have a question/problem. I have a list of jobs that I would like to simplify for the end user. As of now the validation is running of one list of about 550 jobs. What I would like to do (if it is possible) is to use a previous column that shows if the jobs is "Services", "Technologies", or "Corporate" and be able to shorten the validation list to appropriate jobs for that category.

I think this is possible thru the "custom" part of the validation but I do not know how to write the formula for multiple ranges of data for one validation.

Any help is greatly appreciated!
