I need to add some text underneath the category names on the x-axis of an excel bar chart. Is there any way of achieving this with excel other than creating text boxes?

I need to add some text underneath the category names on the x-axis of an excel bar chart. Is there any way of achieving this with excel other than creating text boxes?
Right click on the chart background and select Chart Options, then go to the Titles tab. There's a field there for X axis.
