    Converting time format to seconds

    Hi

    I need to convert time format in to second to be able to work out a handicap system for dinghy racing, i.e. 01:09:57 convert to 4197.

    .... and I can't work out how to do it!!!

    Any chance you lovely people could help me out?

    Try:

    =A1*86400 where A1 has original time value.

    format the cell as General
