How to creat a list of data in a column

Put a 1 in the first cell of the column
Select the entire column
Menubar: Edit > Fill > Series > columns, linear, step=2, stop=1001

type 1,3,5,7, in the first few rows of the column, select the rows and drag the selection rectangle down the column. It will increment as you go down.
