    Page break stuck?

I'd like to think myself not *completely* ignorant with excel, but I cannot figure out why my page break lines are "stuck". I have one portion of a survey with data validation (drop down menu) boxes, linking to several other cells in the AA-> columns (not to be printed). I go to page break preview and drag the thick blue line (print area) to where I want it: only the survey portion. I then try to grab the vertical blue dotted line (page break) and drag it to the thick blue line, so as to create 1 page wide. It does one of two things:

If I only drag it a couple of cells, the line does not move at all.

If I drag it all the way to the thick blue line, it creates a "grid" of page breaks, causing each individual cell to become its own page.

I have reset the page breaks only to find the same results. I have also copied the entire page into a new excel workbook and the page breaks work fine.

Any help on this (surely simple) problem?

    Thank you in advance!

I don't have an answer (for myself) as to how to fix it, but if anyone else is interested, it appears that excel '07 is the problem. I opened the workbook on another computer in '03 and the page breaks moved just fine. FYI
