    to get data from website using excel

    there is a site which uploads some data everyday.. is there a way i can get that data in excel without having to open the browser and downloading that file separately.. can this be done using a macro? please help..

    It depends on the site, the data - is the data displayed as a part of a normal webpage, is it a file

    Can you provide a URL

    You could try

    Data Menu
    Import External Data
    New Web Query
    Put URL in the address bar
    Click on Black Arrow within small Yellow box to Import the data (can select more than one)
    Ypu may need to change some settings via the Options button to right of address bar
    Import Button
    Ok Button
