a function containing sheet names?

Hello u excel wiz-kids ... I wonder if someone can advise?

I'm trying to simplify a mammoth spreadsheet and wondering if is possible to include the name of sheet in another workbook that am linked to within formula (as reference cell)

To explain:

i.e. in row A I would insert name of sheet in other workbook that I want to match & index within, in col a i would insert reference. In cell b2 to z99 I would like to insert a match index function, linked to one other spreadsheet, sheet reference in row a.

Any idea's???
