I have an income statement that pull from a set of source data. I would like to update the income statement formulas to pull from another source that is exactly the same, on the same worksheet, only 231 rows less (this odd number plus the sheer number of cell references makes it a PItA to do this by hand).
I have cut-and-pasted my income statement 231 rows down on its worksheet, then copied it back to the original position and all the non-absolute references now point to where I want them to. This captures about 85% of the cell references that I need updated. However, there were several hundred fixed cell references (using $'s) put into place when the worksheet was created to ease formula creation. How can I get these fixed cell references to update along with the regular cell reference when doing my cut-and-copy trick?
Alternatively, is there a better way to decrement all cell references within a page or selection by 231 rows? Perhaps using macros?
Or (least desirable) is there a way to break all the fixed cell references so my cut-and-copy trick will work on all of the cell references?
Thanks,
Daniel
