    Making excel increment in columns rather than rows

    formula:

    =IF(colour('Monthly UA Data'!$U$3)=50,1,0)*INDEX('Monthly UA Data'!$U$3:$CN$3,1,C10)


    NB 'colour' is a macro that uses the colour index to show the colour of a cell

    I want to drag the cell down to fill up the rows below but the trouble is the data im referencing is stacked up horizontally instead. i managed to fix this for the value of a cell using the index function but im wondering how to get the correct cell reference to determine the colour.

    Why couldn't you use the same index function for that colour part?
