Is there a way to automatically import a given set of values from a website to various fields on a spreadsheet? If so, would this happen each time the excel file is opened? I have no specific examples to cite yet since the idea of what I want to do is still in its infancy.

Yes, it is possible to import data from a web-site directly into Excel.
Data, Import external data, New webquery, type the URL.
It depends on whether you can manipulate the data on the site. If you can then it would be handy to create a table of the required data on the website.

It is possible to import given set of values from a website.
You can use Data, Import external data, New webquery.
You can also use following macro to extract data from a website :
call this module in workbook open if you wish it to load most recent data from website, every time you open this file.
