Find source data in pivot table downloaded from internet

I have a pivot table that I can download online that shows the time our consultants have entered on various projects into our time-tracking system. Once I have downloaded the table, I have to refresh the data before it will work. After that, however, I don't need to even be connected to the internet to use the table, so it seems that the data has to be stored in the Excel workbook itself. Unfortunately, there aren't any hidden tabs and no tables on the first (and only) tab other than the pivot table. I need to add data from another source and be able to manipulate it in the pivot table and thus need to find the source data. Does anyone know where Excel hides it? Thanks.

The data in Excel's pivot cache is not user-accessible, either manually or via vba. Without knowing the structure, you might be able to get the data into Excel with this method though:

    Edit the pivot table layout
    • remove ALL COLUMN and ROW headings.
    • Leave only a DATA item

Now the pivot table will have only one data cell.
    • Double-click that data cell.
Excel will add a new sheet to the workbook that contains
whatever data is available to the pivot table.

Perhaps you could merge the new information into that data set
and create a new pivot table.

Is that something you can work with?

Thanks, Ron. Yeah, it looks like I will have to create another pivot table, but I can work with this. Thanks again.
