Easy Question i think

I am trying to do a mortgage file and i want a number to be entered as 100 but display 100,000 but all in the same cell. Obv. i can have one cell to be 100 and another to be =(cell)*100000 but can i make this happen in one cell. Basically is there a cell format that will multiply the input by a certain value?? Thanks.

Right, it's not the ideal solution but it should work... I'm sure some others may be able to suggest a better option.

Click on the cell then go to Cell formatting and the 'number' tab. Select 'custom' and type in:
0",000"

This will put ",000" as text after the number that is entered. HOWEVER, this means the cell VALUE will still noly be what the user inputs... so have a separate column next to it with the formula =cell*1000 (it isn't *100000 as you suggested).

Then you can hide this column, but refer to it for all calculations.
