    Advanced Filter

Hi I'm trying to use the advance filter for multiple criteria in one column. It works fine if the criteria is ="*10*" (ie where the cell in the range has 10 in the string) plus other = criteria

What I cannot get to work is where the range doesn't equal 10 in the string.

I've tried ="<>*10*" and other variations to no joy.

    Is this possible?

    Cheers, Teeb

You'll need to put the entire expression in quotes

    Does that work for you?

Thanks for this ChemistB! Works Perfectly.

My next problem I have come accross is that I have 5 columns with percentages in them. What I'm trying to get is to add anoter filter command that will look at all the five columns and leave me with any row where any of the five columns have a figure >100%.

If I do this as a separate filter under each column I get no data, which makes sense as none of the rows have all the data >100%.

Any extra help would be appreciated.

    Thanks, Teeb

You'll need to use the advanced filter. Take a look at it under the Excel help files. If each entry is in a separate row, the advanced filter uses looks at them as OR. If they are in the same row, then it treats the criteria with AND.
