    Finding an Exact Match

I have a pretty simple question that I belive involves the INDEX and MATCH functions but I can't seem to get the syntax right.

I have a numerical value in a specific cell on one worksheet (worksheet A) and I wish to find an exact match to that value within a specific column (column 1) on another worksheet (worksheet B) and return a value on the same row in another column (column 2) on worksheet B.

If the original value from worksheet A does not appear at all in column 1 on worksheet B, I wish to return the words "no match."

VLOOKUP would be perfect except that it will find the closest value to the orignal value if it doesn't find an exact match (not good for this application).

    Thanks.

Have a look at the "Range_lookup" parameter of VLOOKUP in the Help File.
