Unhappy Extracting a delimited CSV gave weird results.

    Hi All,

I am trying to extract a CSV into an excel workbook using

Data > Import External Data > Import Data

and specified that its a delimited text and the delimiter is a comma ",". One of the columns in the row has got a pretty long text and contains certain new line characters as well. After extracting the CSV the data in this particular column is treated as a different data entries.

Somebody please help. I have added the file in xls format since csv upload is not permitted.

    Cheers,
    Aswathy

Just open your .csv file using excel, then save as MS excel workbook
I need your support to add reputations if my solution works.

    Hello Buddy,

I am doing all these gimmicks to get a macro recorded and to reuse the code

    Any thoughts on that... ???

Attach the file as a .txt file. We can done load and rename for testing.

I see, the line feed is getting interpreted. Can not see any option that would allow for ingoring of character whilst importing.

I think you may need to open the csv file as a workbook and then copy the information into the required sheet.
