We have a database at work that exports to an older version of excel (i think 2003). When i copy the data from this version into Excel 2007, it limits text within the cell to 255 characters. How can i prevent this from truncating the text?
Also, i cannot use the database version of excel as many features are disabled for some reason.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!
If you copy a worksheet across workbooks in any version of Excel (apparently including 2007, given your comment) it only copies the first 255 characters of any cell.
Copy the cells instead.

I tried copying just the cells and it also cuts it off at 255.
When i say "database version of excel" i'm just meaning to say that using the export from our database is not an option. I have to paste it into excel 2007 to properly run pivot tables and macros on the data.
I just copied a bunch of cells from 2003 to 2007 with up to 32k characters, and it worked fine. Sorry, I don't have another suggestion.
