Searching for a 4 digit number within multiple sheets

Hi, I would like to search for a 4 digit number within multiple sheets in the same excel document. For example... i will have a long list of 4 digit numbers within each sheet and i would like a box on a 'home page' that if i entered a 4 digit number, it would tell me which sheet it is in. Is this possible? Please reply asap. thanks, Simon

Thats brilliant. The only thing is, there maybe the same 4 digits in multiple sheets (i am trying to create a tracker database, the 4 digits are a unique code for the row... but the row will need to appear in multiple sheets) so my next question is: is there a way to display which sheets it is in (this code only shows the first sheet it finds) and.... or... would it be able to show the most recent sheet worked in (for this 4 digit number).... hope that makes sense. Thats awesome... Thanks so much for your help and so quickly. Another problem you may be able to help me with. I touched upon on it before... i need to find a way of finding the most recent entry within a row. Maybe it would be easier for me to attach the file for you to look at?

Ok basically... I have a file that has a unique number (4 digits). this file is being passed around to various people. I need to track this file and record the time and date it was passed around. I have found some code to stamp a date in a various cell... And your code helps me find who the file has been with but not the most recent. Would this be possible?
