tracking the difference between two running scores in a game

hey there, although I'm pretty good at math, I'm very new to excel, so just another newbie question here.

I'm trying to keep a running score in an ongoing online game with one of my friends. She's currently ahead of me. In my spreadsheet I'm trying to track the scores as I try to close the distance between us.

I have two columns, one keeping track of my points, and one keeping track of hers. I'd like a third column showing the differential between our scores, and a fourth column showing my gain/loss since the last entry. At the bottom, I'd like a total gain/loss number for the whole sheet.

I've attached my xls. I've been playing with this for a while, trying to mess with colors and :if: commands, and I don't have the format that I want =/ hope I make sense. thanks in advance! [edit - mixed up mine and my friend's names on the xls. I'm the one with less points =P]

    Thread title and file format

Your thread title needs to be more specific, something along the lines of "Score difference and change tracking", and your file is in an unrecognized format?

hmm, I'm sorry. perhaps an admin can change the title, I don't seem to be able to. And as for my file, I've exported it as an xls from a google docs spreadsheet.

    [edit - title is changed.]

    Thankee

This is how I'd do it, rather than conglomerating the formulas, I've left the calculations seperate so you can see what I've done to get the results I have, let me know if this helps you out.

    Edit:
You'd only be entering numbers in the "You" and "Them" columns, the rest are all dependant upon them.

    I Edit too much:
See additional worksheet with overall progress from initial deficit listed at the bottom.
