The values in lookup_vector must be placed in ascending order: ...,-2, -1, 0, 1, 2, ..., A-Z, FALSE, TRUE; otherwise, LOOKUP may not give the correct value. Uppercase and lowercase text are equivalent.

    index(a3:a6,match(max(b3:b6),b3:b6,0))

may give you what you want

    Regards

You need to use INDEX and MATCH or change your data layout and use VLOOKUP

    Hi,

The formula is working as designed, but I guess you're not getting the result you expect. Have you checked out the help on the function? Generally speaking LOOKUP() is only offered for backward compatibility with Lotus.

What result are you expecting? I'm guessing that you're looking for 'Z', in which case use
