    Calculating Difference Betwen Time Frames

    I wanted to know how you subtract and/or add time frames within an excel spreadsheet. For example;

    10:00AM to 2:00PM = 4 hours

    1:00AM to 10:00PM = 9 hours

    I would like to know how you can input two time frames as shown above, and
    then have excel calculate the difference like, 4 or 9 as shown above.

    Look forward to hearing from you.

    Regards,

    Vladmir

    Calculating differences

    I just did a timesheet for work. Put way more thought into the times than necessary. I just formatted the cells using the format>cells>number>time and pick the "1:30 PM" style. Then use "h" in your formula to give you hours in your total cell. The following formula gives you an 8 hr work day with a break for lunch and totals the hours worked. In this instance G15 was 5PM, F15 was 1PM, E15 was 12PM and D15 is 8AM. The result is 8 hours displayed as "8".

    Hope that helps.
