    Advanced filters

I was doing an Data-> Filter -> Advanced Filter , with unique records chosen, and copy to a new data. However I find out that everything i paste, the first entry are duplicate. ie to say 1st and 2nd row are the same number. Anyone know of this problem ?

I think this occurs if you are only selecting the actual data & not a Header row because it considers the first row to be a header & it is therefore excluded from the uniqueness check. does the problem occur if you have a header included in your range when you filter?

hi , If I include the header in the range, the header will apply in the filter list.

Yes, that's correct, it is good practice to maintain data identity by having headers. Do you still experience "duplicate records" when applying advanced filters with the header included?

If you are then processing the filtered list further, using formulae or VBA, you can adjust the referenced range by using functions or properties such as offset & resize.
