How do I do a list of numnbers or dates without typing in each cell i.e 1 2 3 4 or 22/01/09, 23/01/09 etc etc

Hi,
Enter the first few items of the list.
Highlight all the cells you just entered the list into.
In the bottom cell, put your cursor in the bottom right corner till it becomes a small black cross.
Click and drag the list down to the required length.
Rule 1: Never merge cells
Rule 2: See rule 1
