Excel 2007 : Excel 2007 - Print Preview varies from actually Printing

Good afternnon all,

I am trying to print a simple 36 line spread sheet that ends in column T. I am trying to print on legal paper. I have tried to manipulate the margins, reduced the scaling etc..

I am able to see the complete document in the print preview. It is filling the page from left to right (looks ok to print). When I goto print, it prints very small and there is still approximately 3" of blanket space (that should be used) .

I have tried multiple times to modify any settings..Any help is appreciated.

Hi JC,

Perhaps it's a combination of things:
1. You may have a Print Area set on your spreadsheet. To clear it, go to Page Layout tab > Page Setup group > Print Area > Clear Print Area.

2. You may also have your spreadsheet set to "Fit to x pages wide by y pages tall" in Page Setup. To check this, go to Page Layout tab > click small arrow in lower right corner of Page Setup group > on Page tab, select 'Adjust to' and set it to 100%.

Let us know if that doesn't fix the problem.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the reply.. I have cleared and re-set the print area and also adjusted the scale to 100%.

It is very strange that when my colleague does a print preview (Excel 2003), what she sees is what prints. For some reason I can look at the print preview (Excel 2007) and and get it to fill the page up, but when it prints it will leave about 4-5 inches of blank space to left side of the spreadsheet.

Lost I am..

Outstanding Help! I have been trying to fix that problem for quite some time. Excel lopped off the very bottom of my printing a lot but not all of the time. "Set print area", "Fit to", I tried it all, or so I thought. Not until I changed Scaling to ANY number above 100% did it print correctly.
I would set print area and as soon as I changed Scaling to even 101% it worked fine. However if I set it to 100% it would clip my print job. And note, it was clipping more then 1% of my document. Thanks again!!!

Hi all,

I'm facing the same problem with ROUND objects 6X6. From my Excel sheet is round shape, but in Print preview it becomes Oval shape. How do I adjust it? Please guide me.
