    Grouping Duplicates...

    Hello,
I have a table in excel that contains many rows, each row being a product. Each row has a product ID, and should be unique, but there are multiple instances of products in the table, some that are duplicate and some that contain different info (product notes, description, etc).

What I would like to do is group the products by product ID, so that I can show the different occurances of the product within each product ID, so that we can weed out the unique values within the duplicate products by ID. Is there any easy way to do that?

Also, I would like them to be able to collapse up by product ID.

No, because I want to collapse everything up to the unique instance of the ID.

you can get something similar by using a pivot table and suppressing the sub totals

I was just looking for this solution and found this post. Thank you so much!!! Took a complicated task and provided me with an awesome solution.

To take it a step further, I highlighted the final table and did conditional formatting of blank cells to a light gray. It helped me to jump to those sections and be able to use filtering by color etc. Just what I needed!
