Graph does not show real data

Hello, I am trying to graph 2 columns - x & y - and do polynomial or linear regression to form line equations.

When I insert graph and select the columns for X and Y the graph is created but the x-axis data is spaced so it is not relevant to the values actual spacing. This makes the graph useless for deferential interpretation. Please help me see the actual graph of the data.

Also how do I run regression for the data so I can figure out a best fit equation?

Is the chart a true xy-scatter rather than line chart?
Does the range used for the x value contain any text?

    Post example workbook.
    Cheers

Ok cheers, that was the problem - I needed to select xy scatter rather than line.

Now I can set a trend line which looks like a function of linear regression but where is the equation? Also if I want to do polynomial regression how do I do that?

I need to label the graph line with the best fit equation, please!

When adding a trend line you can choose the type on the Type tab of the dialog.

On the Options tab of the same dialog is Display Equation.
