Hi all,

In Excel 2000, when I opened a workbook with pivot tables in it, I got a dialog box asking if I wanted to update them or not.

Now, in Excel 2007 they just update regardless.

Ive tried checking all the boxes in preferences to prompt for update, but I never get prompted, ther either update, or they don't.

Its a real problem for me as I need to update sometimes, but often I need to see the data without an update.

In Excel 2000, if you accidently switched the dialog off, you could go into the registry and reset it by changing a query security flag......

Anyone have any ideas?
