I'm trying to forecast values for B48:B56. Charted the data and a polynomial 6th order fits best. Known values in B2:B47.
Can anyone suggest the right approach / formula to accurately project forward?
Thanks
Jason

First, there's no polynomial fit to the data in the workbook you posted.
Second, what makes you think a polynomial fit is appropriate?
Entia non sunt multiplicanda sine necessitate
Thanks for your speedy help!
I didn't post the full spreadsheet due to file size. Here's the chart - not a great R2 value - but the best I could get....
Your guidance would be invaluable. Thanks
Jason
Anything to do with dollars (prices, sales, ...) should almost always have an exponential fit. The attachment shows extrapolations using both polynomial and exponential fits.
Hey - thanks. This is great - much appreciated.
