    build a 2 by 12 matrix excel 2007

    Every time I get a new version of excel, it fusses about my VB macro.
    I would like to abandon my VB macro in excel, and do the same thing in "pure" excel 2007.
    I have 2 columns, 1 is month, the other is dollars. There are multiple entries of any month, and the months are not sorted. I would like to build a 2 by 12 matrix to show the dollars per month. Can you give me concept to build upon.

    This sounds like a job for a pivot table. I cannot tell you how to get to them in 2007 however.
