Changing a cell's colour basing on other cells' colour

    hi everyone,

i want a cell to change to the colour green if 5 other cells on the page are green colour.

I want a cell to change colour to red if there are 1 or more red cells on the page.

How do I make this work?

    Thank you!

Not much info to go on here, are you using Conditional Formatting to make the other cells change colour?

    yes i do.

for the 5 other cells, if greater than 0, they are green.
    else, they are red

Re: Changeing a cell's colour basing on other cells' colour

thank you, but sorry, thats not quite what I wanted...

    For example.
cells A1, B1, C1, D1, E1 are conditional formatted to be: green if between 0 and 1,less than 0 is red and greater than 1 is amber.

I have another cell, A2, I want its colour to be changed to green due to the fact that A1,B1,C1,D1 and E1 are all green.
Amber if 1 or more of them is amber, rest are green
and Red, if 1 or more of them is red
and If one of them is red, I want A2 to be red.

    A2 shows the overall status of A1, B1, C1, D1, E1

How do I make A2's cell colour change?

Okay, in my example I have cell F1 reacting the way you want A2 to react.

    How about this?

    nice, getting closer

what about for three colour? like the green, red and amber example i mentioned about?

if statements can only deal with 2 events...

    Hi ConneXionLost!

I'm having the same problem (I want the sume of a cell to be in red font if one of cells have red font, otherwise, it would be in black font) but I can't see the solution or attachment on the page.
