best method for consolidating summed up rows using customer names

I have a spreadsheet sheet1 like the following...

    john|bank1|5|5|4|2
    john|bank2|1|1|1|3
    jack|bank1|4|2|3|1
    jack|bank2|6|2|5|6

I need to have another sheet2 that dynamically takes the data in sheet1 and gives me the following...

    john|6|6|5|5
    jack|10|4|8|7

what that best method for consolidating these summed up rows using customer names (i.e. jack, john,...)? Any help in this regard would be appreciated.

how exactly am I supposed to change the thread title of the post? When I go to edit it doesn't give me the option to change it? Sorry if I offended, wasn't my intention.
