Merge specific text of 2 cells

Hi All,
Thanks in advance for any help! using 2007, I would like to take 2 cells, one with a first name and one with a last name, and merge them into one cell with the full last name but only the first letter of the first name. For example, Tom Smith would become SmithT. Any suggestions?

and if you need space between: =D7&" "&LEFT(C7;1)
