    Disabled Properties menu option

Hi all - I'm using excel 2003 and received a file that has the properties (file/Properties) menu option grayed out. I need to access the properties menu to identify file information. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Chanaka

Does the file have any macros?
If so have you tried opening it and disabling the macros?
Does this happen on any other workbooks you open?

It doesn't have any macros and all other excel workbooks have the properties option enabled.

OK. Would you be able to delete all the information in it and post the empty workbook so someone can take a look at it.

    Unprotect the workbook.

Shg - Unprotecting the Workbook solved the problem. I tried to edit the topic to solved but couldn't figure it out. Can one of the moderators please add the solved tag.
