I have an excel spreadsheet with 10 categories across the top and all 50 states down the left side. The rest is filled with numbers that show how many locations are in each of the categories in each state.
I have graphed this data but I want to sort it by region. How would I do this using Excel 2007?

I'm mainly trying to figure out how to sort(layout) the data so it graphs properly.
Not quite sure what you mean. The table is of course already sorted by state, and it's not clear what you are defining as a region or what you mean by 'graphing properly'.
I can't help thinking that using a pivot table and pivot chart will no doubt give you all the functionality you need.
