    Restore PiviotTable Tools Ribbons

When creating a PivotTable, two ribbons pop up to give you additional options specific to PivotTables: Options and Design. Both of these appear under a red heading in the title bar, "PivotTable Tools". Additionally, a pane appears on the left, titled "PivotTable Field List".

My question is this. When selecting cells outside of the primary pivot table, or when selecting columns/rows, these two ribbons and the pane all disappear. I've searched all over the options and other ribbons, and searched online for how to restore these, but can't. Once you do this, you're pretty much locked in to the pivot table as-is, and are no longer able to change anything.

I'm hoping this is something very easy that I've overlooked, and not a limitation, or "feature", of Excel 2007.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Have you tried clicking a cell in the Pivot Table again? This is normal functionality for all versions of Excel.

While you're in the Pivot Table, the PT options/fields/etc. are available, but as soon as you click outside the PT they disappear. Once you click back into the PT, everything re-appears. Or should. I've never seen that not the case.

Oh wow. See, I knew it was something simple like that.

    Thanks.
