Angry Excel compatibility issues from 07-03

    Hello

firstly I've searched thru the forums and nothing has helped.

I create/manage our budgets. I've recently upgraded to 07 and find that its a much improved product over 03.

I've created the budgets in 07 this year, exactly the same way that I've created and maintained our previous budgets.

All others bar one that need access to the file are working in 03. They've all downloaded the latest compatibility file. however when they open my file it states that there are too many formated cells and then procedes to take all the formatting out and a bunch of different sheets.

    Ok..thats not working....so next step...

I've then saved the file in 03 format instead. Well this time all formating disappears. Ok, ok....on the same file, i change all the formats again and save it...still in 03 format. Close out..reopen....DAG NAB IT...all formatting has gone!!!

I've done a compatibility checker...it originially stated there was going to be a minor loss of fidelity. *5. I removed the only thing that I can see's in their 5 times (an american flag, we're an international company) Now it says there are no compatibility issues....yet still...the same happens.

This is driving me crazy. I've worked on this spreadsheet for a month str8!

Does anyone have any advice??? Please help, otherwise my boss is going to force me to change back to 03...which i really don't want to do.

    thanks.

    Sorry i should have added.

The file is not that big 500kb in 07. it has 13 sheets with a max of 25 columns by up to 300 rows. Avg size in 03 is only 1000kb's.

    PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Does it literally take out a bunch of different sheets, or does it take out the formatting on a bunch of different sheets?

If it's deleting sheets, then I've got no ESH to share .

On the other hand, if you are just losing the formatting, a quick test might be to make sure you are using no colors or formatting techniques that aren't available in Excel 2003. If you are using the same colors and formats as the 2003 version of your spreadsheet and you are still seeing the problem, your .xlsx (or .xlsm) may somehow have become corrupted (not something I've personally experienced, but have seen references to it occurring).

I'm not sure of how to deal with a corrupt workbook, but my guess is that you would have to load up a 2003 version, save it as a 2007 version and re-do any mods you made...

Its doing both.Deleting sheets and completely changing the formats.

I spent 4 1/2 hrs on hold with omnisupport yesterday and then 3 hrs with some ... person ... who wouldn't listen.....all for nothing.

I'm going to have to create the spreadsheet all over again!! Oh well.
