Excel 2007 : Calculate commissions

Hi I'm very new learning excel have a test coming up next week, however can't remember how to calculate commissions paid if sales greater than $12,000 they receive 8% commission this, would appreciate anyones advice, thanks

Commission
Over $12,000 8%
Under $12,000 6%

In a simple table layout like attached with only two tiers, that's pretty straightforward.

Commission Rate:
=IF(A2="","",IF(A2<12000,0.06,0.08))

Commission Amount:
=$A2*LOOKUP($A2,{0,12000},{0.06,0.08})

Thanks JBeaucaire, appreciate the quick reply, I've spent some time going through exercises to find it this morning, got a test Tuesday covering everything learnt in basic excel, have a great day.
