How to add 2 ovetime hours filed (before & after overtime)

    Good morning!

Hope anyone can respond to my query below:

How can i add two separate overtime (number of hours)

I made an overtime monitoring in the company by using look up formula (means I have two files with the Overtime Monitoring Summary dependent on the daily overtime).

What formula I can use so the Monitoring Summary can add 2 rendered overtime of the employee

see sample below: Reference: Daily Overtime file

EMP ID NAME START TIME END TIME HOURS
    546 XX 6:01 8:00 1.98
    546 XX 17:00 18:07 1.12
    549 XY 17:30 21:30 4.00

Using the look up formula, how can I add value for XX (RE: Total OT Hours) in my Overtime Monitoring Summary ( this is other file formulated by look up function dependemt to Daily Ovetime File.

    Thanks for your help.

Re: How to add 2 ovetime hours filed (before & after overtime)

    For the sample
    EMP ID - 546
    Name - XX
    Start time - 6:01
    End Time - 18.07
    Tim Hours -1.98 (Total OR)

In this case XX has two Overtime separated one is for the before shift then after shift overtime.

    Thanks again!

    Hi endz,

Would you means to find the total of OT hours.
    for example 3.1 for XX?
If so you may have a look at this attachment.
The sumif formula could be used.

Re: How to add 2 ovetime hours filed (before & after overtime)

    Hello Kimbal,

Or anyone can respond to my query again.

I was able to activate the formula given by Kimbal from the above so I can be able to generate an accurate overtime monitoring for our team in the company.

The problem with the above formula is since there are two files: (1) Independent - the daily overtime file and (2) Dependent - Overtime Monitoring Summary -

The problem is I need to open both files so that formula will not give ##### value re: Overtime Monitoring Summary.

How to solve the above problem with my Overtime Monitoring Summary not giving me the #### value without opening the Daily Overtime File so that value will appear.

    Thank you in advance.
