    Networkdays in Production Schedule

I have attahced an example of what I need to do. I need to project due dates for each of our 8 departments based on a ship date of the final product. Each of the 8 dept. have a number of operations (ops) and given number of hours for each op. These alocated hours change on every job plus I have 2 outside operations that may or maynot be added to the mix. I don't have a clue on where to even start with this formula. Thanks in advance.

The function you want is WORKDAY(), which is usually used to add a certain number of workdays to a known date to find a future date (skipping weekends and holidays), but if you use a negative number in the "days" parameter, it works backward.

I added a column bringing the number of "days" for each department over next to the due dates, then entered this formula in D17 and then copied UP:

    =WORKDAY(D18,-E18,$G$4:$G$16)
