Using a dropdown list where selction is dependant on another list

    Hi

I am looking for a simpler solution for this current spreadsheet.

I have 2 dropdown lists. One is where a region is selected. Depending on that selection another list is populated with a specific area.

All the values for the 2nd list are setup in tables

To populate the second dropdown list, a long nested set of if statements are used to determine which values to ignore & which to populate the list with.

Also I am unable to add to the region table(14 values), a new area table and still get the sheet to work.

I have attached a spreadsheet that shows how the current system works.

If anyone can point me in the right direction for further reading/research or which function to use I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks for your help

    Nik

Have a read through the (brilliant) Contextures site on the subject of dependent validation lists: http://www.contextures.com/xlDataVal02.html
