Insert cell comment on a protected sheet

Is there a way to allow the user to insert a cell comment in unprotected cells on a protected sheet?
What about protected cells on a protected sheet?

Unprotected (unlocked) cells can be changed and comments may be inserted at will.

Otherwise the sheet must be unprotected for comments to be inserted.
The "locked" property of a cell is only in effect when the sheet is protected.

The sheet is protected and the Insert Comment is NOT available for both the locked and unlocked cells.

Apologies.

Looks like you'll have to remove protection.

When implementing protection, just tick the "Edit Objects" box - then you'll be able to Insert Comments in unlocked cells.
