    split window and scrolling

I have a spreadsheet (in the loosest terms, it is being used as a big table rather than for calculations) which has columns upto CU. I have split the window so I can keep the information in column A in view at all times and can scroll across the rest of the columns.

The thing that is annoying me is that I've entered the name of the spreadsheet in cell B1 (just after the split) but as I scroll along the columns I no longer see the title.

Is there any way to have the info in cell B1 move along with the split as I move along the columns so it is always in view? I'm pretty sure I've seen it on a document at work but I may just be going mad!!

I know it's not important but it's annoying me now cause I've been trying for ages to do it and don't know how.

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks,
    Lynds

    Welcome to the forum.

You could unsplit the window, select B2, and do Window > Freeze Panes. Then col A and row 1 are always visible.

    Re: split window and scrolling

I have attached the document to show you what I mean. There is nothing confidential in there cause it's only a list of players fines for my husbands football team. I need it to be able to scroll across all the dates for the season (in rows 3 and 33) but keep column A with names and title in cell B1 frozen. As the name is longer than one cell long, it doesn't work if I put it from cell B1 to A1, as when I scroll it cuts off the name.

When I tried freeze pane it froze from column G, not B.

Additionally, I'll need split window as he will be accruing players throughout the season so both the current players lists and ex players lists will increase (going by last season anyway!).

    hope this makes sense

Then abbreviate the title and put it in A1.
