I am trying to fix a problem in a program someone else created. We use a VB program in Excel that automatically generates reports/charts, etc. The problem is in the data sheet. We track events here and the VB program simply pulls that info into report format.
My problem is that some cells display text, but will not let me edit the text, and when I try it asks for a date format. If I right click the cell and go to format, when general is selected it displays ########### as shown in image 1. If you click on number, currency, or anything besides general or text, it displays the actual text in the cell. (image 2)
When looking at the sheet, the text is displayed but when the VB program retrieves the information for reporting it gets the ###### instead of the text. Any ideas?
