"I wish I knew half of what you guys have forgotten"
What settings have you set? If you are referencing cell formatting, you can do a Paste Special... operation.
Highlight the cells whose formatting you want to replicate, press Ctrl+C to copy. Go to each sheet and right click in the upper left corner of the range you want to change the formats to match your first sheet and choose Paste Special... Choose Formats and Ok out.
The copied info is retained so you can go to each sheet and repeat the Paste Special.
If all of the sheets have the information in the same place (range) you can copy the cells, group select your sheets, and Paste Special all sheets at once.
To group select sheets: Click on the first tab and then press and hold the shift key on the last tab. To group non consecutive sheets, use a Ctrl+Click on the tabs you want to group.
it seems that I would replace some of the values etc if i did that. all i want to transfer is the page formatting: landscape, cell size etc.
Oh and thanks for your help
None of your values would change if you are pasting only formatting. If you select your entire sheet, the column widths and row height would also be changed when you paste the formatting.
To change the page set up for all group all of your pages, making sure you've selected your "master sheet" first and then group select the rest of the sheets. Go to File / Page Set Up... - and Okay out of the dialog box. All settings for the sheet you chose first will be transferred to the rest of the sheet.
Im sorry i should have mentioned that i have office 2007 and i dont have teh "file" option of just dont know where it is lol
It appears though that you have found the Page Set Up area since you've changed the orientation to landscape. Go there.
Do I select the first page (the whole page) and hit copy first? its all at teh top of the page next to "insert"
SWEET!! I did it (with a little help from my friends) what a song
Thanks alot "mdbct"
tregrad,
Would you mind posting the steps you took to solve this problem. It may help me solve a similar challenge I need to overcome.
TIA
I have done it in the past with multiple sheets but for some reason it wasnt working here but thanks to the help here I was able to get it.
all you do is right click on the top left corner that highlights the whole page and then hit copy
then "regular" click on the next work sheet
then holding down the "ctrl" key click on every "work sheet" that you want to be formatted just like the one you copied.
go back up to the top left corner of the "next" worksheet, right click and click on "paste special"
the "paste special" box will pop up and you can choose what to paste to teh new worksheet from the original one
thats the best i know, I am by no means any kind of an expert like the guys and gals in here so take my advice with a grain of salt :-)
I am finding a limitation with this method that is creating trouble for me...
When I modify the "template" worksheet I want to add some rows that will move the data/tables down. So data that was in d1-d20 is now in h1-h20.
While I DO NOT want to modify the data that is in other worksheets I do want it to move with the addition of rows in the copied page format.
I realize that it is unlikely that anything can be done using this method to remedy this limitation but I thought I would point it out in hopes that someone might have some insight about another way to accomplish this
