I know I can freeze panes eithe across a column or row but is it possibleto do both at the same time so that I can have a header row and a few columns on the left of the screen frozen?

To freeze just two rows at the top of the screen, put your cursor in A3 and select Window > Freeze Panes
To freeze just two columns at the left of the screen, put your cursor in C1 and select Window > Freeze Panes
To freeze two rows at the top of the screen AND two columns to the left, put your cursor in C3 and select Window > Freeze Panes
Just keep in mind the "freeze" occurs above and to the left of the activecell.

Excellent, Thank you. I had always frozen panes by selecting a whole row or column rather than just a cell. That works perfectly for what I want
