Pardon ...?
Entia non sunt multiplicanda sine necessitate
I made an excel attachement like an example, I need to find the values in the ''?'' cells
Any restrictions on values, e.g., all > 0?
Repeated values allowed?
What's the purpose?
No, there's no any restrictions on values, they represent number of persons, so all values should be positive. I just have to make a detailed table, but all I have are the total values.
Thank you very much again
It doesn't cross-foot. The sum of the totals row is not the sum of the totals column.
Ow sorry shg, I made a mistake, here is a corrected file. How do you do the cross-foot??
I added the row at the bottom and the column at right.
Ok, and do you think it's even possible to the get all the other values with just the totals? I think from the mathematic point of view, it is, but I don't know if it's possible with excel?!
It requires VBA, which means anything is possible, given eough time and memory.
In general, I would assume that there are zero or more solutions. If all the column totals were 10, and all the row totals were 100, for example, there would be no solution.
Tell me more about why you want to do this -- it might be motivational.
