    Automatic Updating

Is there a way that it would be possible for an excel file to be automatically updated without opening it? For example, let's say that you wanted an excel sheet to update once every half hour, recalculate and also run a simple macro. Is there a way that this could be done without having to open it and do everything manually?

THere are other things that are linked to it, that draw information from it.

You can schedule the workbook to open with Windows Task Scheduler, and have the macro run in the Open event.

In order for the macro to run without a prompt to enable macros, you need to sign the VBA project.
