Extract last word

have a field that contains Salutation, forename & surname e.g Mr John Smith
I Want to extract the Surname to a new field

Is there a function for this

can anyone walk me through what is actually happening here. i wanted the first word so i changed right to left and it worked like a charm but like to understand why.
