    vlookup passes formatting

    HI there,

I am using the command =IF(E23="","",VLOOKUP(E23,Lookups!$A$2:$B$8,2,FALSE))
    to pass values
but i also want the associated formatting to appear in the field making the vlookup call. How do I do that?

    Cheers,

    Noah

    Won't happen. You'd need VBA.

Visual Basic for Applications, Microsoft's automation language for the Office suite.

It comes with Office, but you have to elect to install it when you install.

If you do Alt+F11 from Excel, and a window titled Microsoft Visual Basic opens, it's installed.
