Linking to external images

Hi,

I only have basic knowledge of Excel so sorry if this sounds like a dumb question.

I need to put images stored locally on my hard drive into an a number of sheets. The only way I know to do this is to access them via a hyper-link which always opens in IE8 and not my default image viewer.

Is there anyway to get Excel to open the image using my default image viewer which is faster at displaying and always opens in full screen mode and not 1/2 screen as IE8 does when called?
