Excel 2007...
Is there any way to attatched a shape to a cell?
I want to put a shape in a specific cell, then be able to center it based on the cell it's in. Having the hardest time figuring this out.
Thanks in advance!

Shapes don't exactly 'attach' to cells, but you can center a shape in a cell. There's an example at http://www.excelforum.com/excel-prog...ng-on-row.html
Entia non sunt multiplicanda sine necessitate
Hi,
not sure about 2007, but in 2003 centering a shape relative to a cell is tricky.
When you drag the shape and hold down the ALT key, it will snap to the cell grid. The cell where the upper left handle of the shape is located is the shape's anchor point. You can set the shape properties to "move but not resize with cells", and then it will keep its proportions when the surrounding cells change in size.
You can use this behaviour to manually center a shape in a cell. If you have more than one shape, you can align them to the same middle "axis" by selecting all shapes, then clicking on the drawing toolbar:
Draw - Align or distribute - Align Centre (or Align Middle)
